OBJECTIVES |
At the end of the symposium, attendees
will be able to:
• Identify proper medical advances in the areas
of prevention and treatment of device-related infections;
• Apply proper surgical interventions in patients
with device-related infections; and
• Recognize the regulatory perspectives regarding
surface-modified medical devices

is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing
Medical Education
to provide continuing medical education for physicians.
Washington University designated this educational activity
for a maximum of 11 hours in Category 1 credit
toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award.
Each physician should only claim those hours of credit
that he/she actually
spent in the educational activity.
CME Certificates will
be mailed directly from Washington University at the
completion of the course.
Nurses:
Lynn Hadaway Associates, Inc. is an accredited provider
of continuing education for nurses by the California
board of Registered Nurses, CEP 13546. Upon attendance
of the program, the nursing participants will receive

PRE-CONFERENCE
Recent Research Breakthroughs in Infection Preventions:
Translating New Findings Into Lifesaving Practices
|
In addition to the main
conference, this year's meeting will include a CME and
CEU accredited pre-conference. This will be a presentation
(breakfast included) by Betsy McCaughey, Ph.D., Chairman,
Committee to Reduce Infection Deaths (RID) and former
Lt. Governor of New York. Doctor McCaughey is a health
policy expert who has won many prizes for her writings,
lectures widely and appears frequently on television
and radio. Doctor McCaughey's research on how to prevent
infection deaths has been featured on Good Morning America,
the CBC Morning Show, ABC's 20/20 and many other national
programs including Fox News Network's Hannity &
Colmes, the O'Reilly Factor, and CNN's Talk Back Live.
This pre-conference will
present ground breaking news on the comparative effectivieness
of different infection prevention strategies, reports
on ways to reduce the risk for infection, financial
costs of hospital infections, and challenges for policy
changes. The target audience includes hospital administrators
and executives, insurance company representatives, third
party payers, governmental, legislative, industry, physicians,
nurses, allied health professionals, residents, and
fellows.

GOLF TOURNAMENT
The Omni Interlocken Golf Club offers
a stunning panoramic view surrounding a 27-hole championship
course which offers a challenging yet equally rewarding
course for amateur to professional golfers. Stretching
over 300 acres with over 400 feet of elevation changes,
this rolling 7,100 yard, par 72 courses proves challenging
yet playable golfing. The tournament is scheduled for
Saturday, August 11 with a tee off time of 1:12pm. Club
rental is available. The players will be paired off and
prizes will be awarded for the longest drive, closest
to the cup and lowest score. The fee for the tournament
is $60/person. It is not included in the conference registration.
Fee includes 18-hole green fee, cart, GPS System, range

POWER WALK

CANCELLATION POLICY
Registration cancellations must be made
